Hi - I have an 80 and 100 and am considering an early 200. You know you want a triple locked and armored 1996 80 that needs some love. Drives fine (needs tires), birfs, wheel bearings, brakes just done. Engine is leaky and has 213k miles. PO's kids did a number of the paint, so it isn't pretty, but it is rust free. I've owned it since 2011 I think. PO is on mud as well. While you're fixing it up you can take your time because you'll also get a clean, completely stock and serviced 2013 Golf R with 102k miles to drive. I figure each of them is worth about $13k-14k. Looking for a 2008-2015.Tan interior preferred. 200k miles or less. Can add cash as well for a newer one. Save me from the beating I'll get if I keep the 80 and LT swap it.

This is hilariously my current conundrum. Been casually looking at a 200series for a while. And then last month my buddy told me that for the price of a 16+ 200series. I can get an 80/100 with a TypeR/GTI/STI/ND2...etc. Or I can even buy the cheapest 2008 200series, and a Supra mkV/GR Corolla/or even a high milage LC500...

It shook me so hard I've had an identity crisis for a month.

LOL. Yeah, I've usually had several cool cheaper cars rather than one really nice one. At the moment, I have old, but nice: 80, 100, Syncro Westy, Golf R, Ram3500. It's pretty dumb. Can only drive one at a time. Could sell all and have a really nicely built 2021 200. And only one insurance policy! And only one car that needs almost none of my time for maintenance/repairs.

Is the SYNCRO yours too.....?

Ummm...yeah, it is a little obscene , but I bought that almost 20 years ago before the market blew up and I ran into a great deal where a person needed to leave the country in a few days - good to always have dry powder, so to speak. I can't bring myself to sell it yet. But...a newer 200 might get my attention.
