Not sure if there is a difference in years on the arches, if there is im needing ones to match my 71. Have pretty much all the pieces to start restoring the body on my pig (thanks bobm) however parts of my wheel arches are to bad to just repair (see also: missing)

So if you know of anyone that has a pig that is sitting around that has decent (doesnt have to be perfect by any means) arches, let me know if they are willing to cut them out and send them too me.

Thanks in advance. Already talked to cruiserparts.net and their pig are too nice to cut up they said, so thats a no go.

you can see here the where it attaches to the rocker is completely missing, not really wanting to try and replicate the curves.

Are you needing it to include the transition inside the lower door jamb to the rocker?

I've not seen one that's in good shape.

In the lip, itself, the opposite front will work on the rear and it may be easier to find fronts in good shape.

Mine are none existent. And I want to get those flares back. I have heard that the front fender flares are the same as the rear. Maybe look for some front fenders as another approach. Of coarse that is if the 'arches' are the same as what I'm talking about- the flares.

Thanks for the idea xtiaan and Delancy, i can probably make a transition if i had a arch to work with. Main thing was not trying to get the correct arch AND transition. That would be way out of me and my buddies range of comfort.

Thank Pighead.

Not that it's necessary, but can confirm it, since we checked on mine, before chopping out the quarters on the donor.

The transition of the wheel well (??.) inside the jamb to the rocker was a complete b----h, on mine, even with a decent PS from the donor and at the hands of pros.

Believe it or not, some of the body is comprised of complex bends and angles that are very difficult to reasonably replicate, that particular piece being one.

On the flare...

One thing that I had thought about, after researching the matter extensively for the rear wells of my 80, was rolling the extruded flare "lip", like the tuners do when cramming dubs under their Benzs.

Considered requesting quarter patches from Bob that had a 3" extension in the arch, patching into the rear quarter, then using either a rented roller, or a piece of pipe to, at least, form a roll at the bottom.

Body man claimed it was too much work without a guarantee, but have seen them do similar on $50-70k Bimmers.....online :) and it looked "factory".

Anyhow, you may have better luck with finding fronts.

I have a fender roller. Bending arches that tight would be extremely hard. At least from the knowledge I have.

Bobm yes I have your rear quarters.

Delancy, did you use the opposite fronts in this photo? I am looking at a similar issue of how to manage the transition from sill to wheel well as the bottom of the wheel well is rusted out.

The "lip" discuses isn't in those photos.

For clarification, the flare or lip in the following is what can be used on the opposing rear side.

The transition in the previous pic is a bear. None of the three I have are solid, so it's being fabbed on the '72, the balance of the surgery consisting of Bob's quarter patches and fender lips from the donor.
