So, it seems the oil pressure guage on my 3B-powered BJ70 is pooched. Apparently the PO neglected to note which wire went where when he dismantled it. Upon reconnection there was a 50-50 chance to get it right and sadly, the wrong choice was made. The needle has now wrapped itself out of the viewable area on the gauge. Anybody out there have an extra one? Pretty please! :bang::bang::bang:

p.s. ****, realized I haven't created a sig line.

when I do it'll say something like: "1985 CDM BJ70 shorty w 3B, H55F , 3" Keep Slant lift, 4.11s, ARB bumper w Warn 8274 winch, riding 33's.

Although most of the factory gauges do last a pretty darn long time they really were never designed to give accurate readouts of anything... They're more of a guessing gauge which is why when ever anyone on the forum with a diesel Land cruiser has gauge issues someone always recommends mechanical after market gauges after all you have a mechanical diesel engine so why bother with sub par electronic gauges, senders etc...

I personally purchased isspro gauges and couldn't be happier with there function, looks etc... You can buy them to almost perfectly match what a toyota factory gauge looks like... You can buy them with 24V bulbs if nessesary and best of all you read the specific temps or pressure your oil is at or coolent... Also you can buy gauges that were never in your truck from the factory like an EGT and for every 3B owner I feel this is a must!

Once you drive a 3B with an EGT gauge and you see the temperatures the exhaust gets to trying to keep up to highway speed (or exceed) on even small long grades you start to realize why most of these motor have cracked pre cups when the heads come off...

Anyway I thought I would be the first to tell you the toyota gauges kinda suck, so don't replace them, upgrade! You'll be happy you did because you will be able to monitor the happiness of your engine much better!

I think that style looks pretty darn close to factory!

I am 3 for 3 on OEM Toyota oil pressure gauges that are woefully inaccurate. Don't waste your money on a factory gauge. A good aftermarket gauge is the way to go in my opinion.

Same same on crappy oil gauges on the BJs. My oil gauge didn't work when I bought it, replaced with brand new OEM which lasted about a month before it crapped out:meh:
