It's not a must have but mine is leaking fluid so rather than plug it I may as well replace it.

l got one from a local parts store for a HDJ81,l just told them is a 1990 landcruiser,came with the rubber gromet too.

Is there actually a difference between those two pumps? I bet you could make a windshield pump work...

I'm not sure actually but I beleive so... I could likely mickey mouse something but may as well get the oem if available. I think I found a used one on the cheap but new isn't bad either.
