my rear has rotted so bad sway bracket came loose nowhere to reattach so new housing?
anyone fabricate a patch?
I think guts are good so eithr way im interested

How many hrs would a shop need to swap out my whole rear vs retrofitting it into a new housing?

Probably be a good question for whomever you'll be using to do the job. If it were me I would probably charge an extra couple hours to swap everything over from one housing to the other. A standard hour to swap parts, and another hour because of aggravation of dealing with rusty bolts, having to possibly drill/tap holes, and setting up the wheel bearings/hubs with the proper preload, etc. I can't remember if those rear hubs and backing plates can bolt on without having to disassemble the whole rear hubs or not. And for swapping axles I would charge probably 3-4 hours. So 5-6 hours total. That's what I would charge someone. But you may find someone would do it for more or less time.
