It's official, I've decided I need a new DD/second family kid hauler and have narrowed it down to a later 80 or an early 100. Supply seems to be low right now so just throwing it out there to see if anyone has a neighbor, aunt, uncle, friend, bug man etc who might be thinking about selling. looking to spend 6-8k max.

Wow didn't know you getting out of your current ride was even an option. That being said I don't know anything about 80's pricing.

Ok, so suppose I found a built 80 that is slightly more than I want to spend, but perfect. How much do you think I could or should sell my current truck for?

IMHO you have a bad ass land cruiser. And I dont think you could get enough to make it worth selling.

I checked out a really nice 100 on the way home from Il. It had a center locker (do all 100s have that?) but I didn't write the number down because there was no rear locker.

No year listed

Good leather, nice green paint, frame looked good, all stock as far as I could tell.

If you are interested I could see if someone can get the number for me.

Does selling your cruiser and trading for a 94-97 satisfy your end goal?

posted with my thumbs.

Easiest way to tell is if taillights have orange in them 1998-2002 no orange is 2003-2005 and if LED taillights 2006-2007

tsk tsk tsk - too bad there's not a finger wagging icon on here. Existential questions like this are better asked at a meeting with beers involved, but you should know by now that there is really no end goal in all this.

Monetarily I don't have all that much in my current rig, for everything I have added I have tried to sell something else. I have a tremendous amount of blood and sweat in it(no tears shed that I remember) but building it has been fun for me and I'm not emotionally tied to it. I'm not going to ever wheel it like it should be wheeled, so if I see it go to someone who push it to it's boundaries and maybe finish it off with a crawl box I will be happy to see it go. After I sold my 97 I bought this one to be a cheap temporary rig to fill in until I could afford another 97. My kids were pretty much at their limit of excitemnt on the skyway ride anyway, and I am fine with that. I think a lot of the group would be happy with mild expo/camping type rides - I just like being out in the woods.

hate to see you sell it. You might need to post up what mods you have made to get feedback on price.

I've been contemplating buying an 80...... but I may have to sit tight for a while and pay off other things first.

I've been really impressed with what even stock 80's can do with lockers and a little larger tire and mild lift....really impressive.

I need to tally up the maintenance and mods. If I do decide to sell it I will probably throw together another set of sliders and a rear bumper just to finish it off. maybe sell the ARB separately and build a tube bumper for the front.

Deal.

by the way, come May when I am working 50+ hours a week maybe I can contribute more to the "new cruiser fund" :hhmm:

Matt I have to see you sell it as well but completely understand. Sorry I mine was for sale and backed out on ya. Let me know if you decide to let go of the ARB.

You need to double the order and make my life easier. :D

Seriously hate to see you sell you rig it looks so good, but I know your next will look awesome too.

Sent from my Droid thingy using IH8MUD

Sounds like ole bhammapping has the "new car fever"!

Will do. Haven't heard back on the cruiser I have in mind. If it turns out that the new rig doesn't have an ARB I will be keeping this one, if not I'll let you know.

We can talk about it - I'd have to get you to take some measurements for me to make sure your cats are in about the same place mine are, but now's the time while I still have the 92 to work off of.

It comes and goes, driving the current truck back and forth to Fultondale is not a long term solution though.

I figured, just making sure you hadn't gone completely cruiser crazy.

oh, no, I am off the deep end cruiser crazy.
I had my 40 (that still is non-op) listed on craigstlist for about 4 hours, 5 phone calls later I deleted the ad. I had already agreed to let someone come look at it and by the time he showed up I had broken out in nervous hives thinking he was going to buy it.... luckily he passed on it...

My LX is probably going up in the near future. I need to find time to do a big cleaning and finish a few things. I havn't figured price yet but can go up / down if you want me to pull stuff off and sell seperatly.

hopefully, fingers crossed, I have found one and am just working out details on how to pick it up. If it doesn't work out for some reason I will be very interested in talking to you about it.
