My mechanic pulled my engine appart and the problem was a bearing on one of the connecting rods. The bearing went and eventually ground down to dust, there was nothing ther. When the took the oil pan off there where metal filings in the pan.
The crank shaft and 1 connecting rod are shot and we are looking at a oil pump as well asuming that the filings got into it. I have priced the parts as well as replacement engines and it would be cheaper and less labour to drop a repalcement engine in.
I am looking for a 2L TE for a RHD, the old engine had the head replaced with a 3L and a high volume water pump that I would swap over to the replacement engine.
Does anyone have a 2L or 3L engine, it would have to fit into a Right Hand Drive 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. I am in New Brunswick, Canada.
