Just some friendly advice, I would recommend a 3rd gen 4rnr if it's for your wife. Safety features are a little better, and build design is a little nicer. The tacomas have a potential frame issue if it was outside of AZ, where they have been corroding exponentially due to improper frame treatment.
Unless you need a truck, at least consider the 4rnr. If I was buying my wife something (and it would be used offroad) it would most certainly be a 3rd gen.
Just be careful if you find a taco on ttora, make sure someone checks it out before writing the check. Hi-jack off, bump.

Thanks for the advice. I think we'll most likely stick with a taco because that is what she's asking for (I talked to her about 4Runners), but I will make sure to check for rust on any I see. We'll also most likely be buying a truck here in AZ.
