Bart - thanks for putting this together. I was planning on coming at 8:30am if that's cool. I am only able to stay until 12:30 so I probably won't be partaking of the food and beverage portion of the event - sadly.
I need to decide what I am going to work on:
Task 1 - I am way overdue installing the factory height OME lift and Man a Fre spacers I purchased months ago. I will go higher later, but I still schlepp 3 kids (3, 6 and 9) around and they already have difficulty getting in and out. I have a second set of wheels with 285s that provide additional clearance when wheeling.
Task 2 - I bought pads and Toyota brake fluid to do the front brakes.
The front brakes are overdue but I have been delaying because I recently bought some locking axles (and dash switch, harness, ecu, etc) off a wrecked '96 that I will be swapping into my '97 soon. Before installing the locked axles, I will do a front axle rebuild, potentially rebuild the rear as needed and install new pads and service front and rear brakes - since this will be easier with them off the truck. I hope to do all that in December but I may go ahead and replace the pads on my current axles now in case it takes several months to get to the axle swap (so little time).
For Saturday, I will probably do the "lift" first and time permitting, change out the pads and bleed the front brakes. I am embarassed to say that I have not done my own brake work on my 80 before so may need a hand with bleeding, etc.
Given that I only have 4 hours, I may just tackle one of these tasks and help out anyone else that might need a second set of hands.
I look forward to meeting more of you.
