Its a long shot but ive got family in RDU that has happened upon a somewhat dire situation. Here is the thread from the main forum. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/226085-rth-front-right-wheel-bearing-need-help.html
I was just curious to see who was skilled and not commited to dads day this weekend and might like to make a few bucks while trying to save a friend a few. Right now this has forced two adults and two young girls to make the 92 camry wagon the all around DD.

any help or suggestions appreciated, he knows about the club discount, but time may be more important thought funds are tight. They need to drive to PA next weekend.

thanks to all

Jason, where exactly are they, I could probably lend a hand sunday if need be. It would be nice to have two people who have done it so one could tackle each side.

Get me some information and I will see what I can do.

Also just replaced and did exterior mod on the EGR VSV so could probably knock that out as well, Fred Anderson has the part in stock.

I'd go help in a minute but we are going away for the weekend. :( For the EGR, they can try Seafoam throughout the EGR system and clean the VSV w/ it, cured my problems.

So many thanks folks.... ive been out since i posted and just got back home. They are off falls of neuse and millbook in N rdu. I can come down and may be able to canabalize my 80 for any unavailable parts seein as how its out of commision w/ a cracked gas tank  . Ill keep this up to date and let bfree know about this thread as well.

No problem Jason, I got your message last night, just let me know. I have a rebuild kit for a mini truck if any parts are interchangeable we can use some of those. Have him call Chris at FA Toyota and see what he can come up with.

Keep me posted.

I just found out he dropped it off at his mechanics before he called me. He spoke w/ FA this am and they had no idea what a full axle rebuild was (i know its not on the typ dealer maintenance sheet) and quoted him for $440 for one side bearing replacement. I did tell him to call back and ask for Chris. I emailed him a ton of links that hes pouring through now and going to call his mechanic to see how far he got into it and if he can get it back. My biggest concern would be putting it back on the road for 10 miles home, but if it got buttoned up as best possible i think the damage is already done and should be fine. (but thats a land. arch. opinion)

Thanks again and ill keep this up to date as i find out more. I think he is going through a little information overload at the moment; and im still hunting a rebuild kit.

Thanks Greg; i believe hes taken care of but i want to thank everyone for the calls and offering of help. He got his mechanic to work on the labor and prices a bit more and to agree to a full rebuild including warranty replacements for the rotor/pads. He is super busy w/ work and i havent gotten in touch w/ him this afternoon, but im pretty certain hes decided to go foward w/ the repair where it is now.

Again, thanks so much for offering up time and expertise on short notice over the weekend. Ill confirm its been taken care of when i speak to him.
