Hey, thanks for the idea. I've got a small tear along the left side of the drivers seat. I'll look into it and let you know.

This would give me some more time before I invest in replacement leather, cuz then the tear would be on the inside of the passenger's seat. Great idea!

best bet is probably to go to a leather / canvas repair shop and have them replace the affected panel in your original seat bottom. they can dye it to match perfectly, depending on the quality of work they do, of course. i've had it done and it looked as good as new.

Mark Sr.,

I pulled both driver's seats out last night to investigate doing the swap and "no joy." The seats aren't shaped the same. There is space made for the buckle of the seatbelt on the inside.

I had the leather swatch replaced a few weeks ago. About $50 and unless it's in direct bright sunlight, the difference in leather dye is not noticeable. The foam pad underneath was completely broken down and needed to be replaced. Dealer item only, I think about $200. It was suggested that I could save a few bucks by only replacing the left side of the foam bolster, but for long term use, I opted for a new complete driver's side foam piece.
