I’m painting all my wood trim matte black to match my black 200. How do you remove the wood trim from the doors? Do you have to take the whole panel off? Thanks!

Yes. The panel must come completely off, then you will see a few simple Philips screws that hold the wood to the panel.

Side note, except for the steering wheel, all wood can be complete separated from panels or chrome trim.

Personal preference?

I don’t care for the wood trim. Not so much that I’ll ever do anything about it (probably), but I’d prefer something different. The wood look feels more “I am trying to look like a luxury car” than “I am a utility vehicle” to me. I prefer the utility feel.

Thanks for the tech info Taco2Cruiser. It’s good to know how it comes apart. I seem to recall you used bedliner on yours?

Yes, this is totally a personal preference. It’s not even real wood, just faux wood so I have no issues painting over it. I also plan on swapping the steering wheel with a piano black one from eBay to completely eliminate the wood.
