Hi,

I'm not a big fan of the faux wood interior that my 06 100 came with.
I have read several posts on how to remove it.

I'm also considering covering all of the center console and center dash section with 3m di-noc film. Has any one tried this option?

Additionally to that, what options are out there for the shift knob and transfer case knob?
I have searched on eBay for some options and found what I think would be a straight swap of the shift knob for a black all leather knob out of a Lx 470.
I also found a really cool TRD one for the new Tundra, but my guess is that the thread is not the same. I have attached a photo of that one.

As far as the steering wheel I also found on Ebay a black one but if I decide not to spend the cash there, I read on the forum wheelskins cover works very well.

I have also included a photo of my dash.
Any additional suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm bias, but I love these shift knobs on my 04. Yes, it's bling, and adds zero functionality and many here will nail you up on the cross for such items. Be warned.

I'm not 100% sure, but the guy who made these started by making them for FJ Cruisers. They might be the exact same thread/shape, they might not be. You would need to do some research, same for the Tundra idea.

Rip that fake wood covers off and leave it as is, I wouldn't waste money on the 3M covering. It will just look cheap and fake, much like what you ripped off...

Thanks for your reply Anthony,

I agree there is no special functionality, other than feeling comfortable in the interior of your rig.

I will drive it mainly on really long highway trips at least 6 hours straight, I need it to be comfortable.

On the fake wood covers actually it does serve a purpose to get rid of them. In one of my other cars the car has wood trim all around the shift knob and at certain times of day depending on how the car is position you get glare out of the reflection of the trim. So that's one reason I 'm moving towards removing all of the shiny stuff in the drivers compartment.

Does Knobs really look good. I'm going to order the Tundra TRD knob, if it does not fit I can always send it back.
As for the little transfer case knob I found a simple leather one on ebay out of a Lexus GX 470 without the fake wood, I hope they are the same thread.

I will post some updates once I start making the mods on my rig.
Thanks again
