I have a 68 fj40 that I just finished putting back together. I have all the lights working except the driver side rear running light. I know the bulb is good after switching from side to side. Could I have something wrong with the wires up front in the engine cmpartment? Does anybody have a diagram of the proper wirring locations for 1968. I'm out of ideas. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check your grounds first, I had to ground both rear tail lights to make them work just 6'' piece of wire from frame to where the light bolts to the bracket.
check your wiring where the Everything connects up @ the turn indicator switch behind the instrument cluster then to the right side terminal strip then the left side terminal strip.

Good luck

Thanks Dusty, I just found the diagram in the tech section as well. Does each light need to be grounded?

Toyota grounded through the body or frame under normal conditions no, but with age corrosion, or restoration process we have a tendency for over kill when we paint or rust proof our rigs. this Isolates the original grounded path. Joe C

when i wired my rear runners on i ran the ground to the mounting bolt. it works great. I think thats how mine was stock but i can't remember for sure.

Thanks for all the feed back. I'll keep working on it. Still not there yet.
