Anyone every use one, I have split off one of my upstaris bedrooms onto its own heating zone. I have a boiler and all of the rooms have there own thermostats. This room is very far from the boiler 3 floors away and on the other side of the house. Old house 1837 so runnig a wire up could be next to imposs. My electrician want no part of it, and running one outside is an option but looks like poo. So has anyone used one of these?

I'm in the same pickle. My buddy's ranchouse is from the 1850s and needs a new thermostat wire run. Nobody wants to do it, much less go all the way out there onto a 50,000 acre ranch just for a t-stat wire. Wireless could be the way to go. Who sells them?

Honeywell has has a bunch for $300 ish.

the X10 looks good but at $400 just to control the heat in one bedroom may be overkill. I have found so other versions for 2-300$ that may fit the bill.

Are you looking to control the temp in each room or just shut off and on the t-stat. If your needs are just on and off it can be done a lot cheaper.

Just one room

I have a boiler that has 8 different zones, One of my upper bedrooms was alway cold b/c it shared a boiler outlet with the rest of the upstairs. I changed my hot water heater from the boiler to an on demand this opened up a boiler connection on the manifold allowing me to hook up the cold room direct to the boiler. So now I need a thermostat just for that new hookup.
Honey Well may be the way to go.
