I am gathering parts to install a Blue Sea fuse block inside the passenger kick panel. Will connect a CB, Ham Radio, rear cargo lights, two 12 volt outlets and two front off road lights.

What gauge wire should I use from the battery to the fuse block and then from the fuse block to rear for the cargo lights and 12 volt outlets? May install a junction box in the rear for the future.

Would it be better to use 6 or 4 gauge wire or would 8 gauge be ok?

I have 8 gauge and was planning on using it and would appreciate your input before making the installation

Add up the max amps you will draw from all of the connections, or take the amp rating of the Blue Sea box, then use this table to find the correct gauge for the length of the run.

From the chart I think 8 gauge will do the job and leave me with other options. Think I worried about it too much and didn't want to overkill the problem.

The wire size being used (8 Gauge) should be adequate.

Many thanks,
John
