Nice pics Craig..

Are you guys doing Whipsaw again this year?

Whipsaw is a possibility on August long weekend, unless we come up with a better idea.
Some are getting bored with Whipsaw and yearn for a new thrill.

Wipsaw

I think Wipsaw is a great run for the August long weekend. All the trucks can make it, side runs, good weather, minimal bozos and central if others from Kelowna (or where ever) want to make the run.

Besides, last year the coal mine expanded and test drilling on Loadstone. We may not be using this area for much longer. People can say they are bored with the run, but if it dissapears like Burke, Blue and Blackdome (among others), they will be the first to say "I miss the days when we could go there".

I vote for keeping the August traditional and making the July and September weekends for exploration.

Craig.

I hate to admit it, but I agree with the Jeep guy :). We should keep some tradition, and while Whipsaw is by no means a 'winching mandatory' kind of trip, its still fun. Good scenery, good camping, and good company.

I agree - only did the day trip last year.. It was the "first" trip for my truck. Would like to spend more time in that area for sure!

Damn it, I still haven't been to Whipsaw! Only been trying to make that run for about 9 years now...
Looks like I may be around for August this year, so my vote's for Whipsaw - unless my plans get screwed as usual, then go wherever you want :D

At our meeting we decided on Whipsaw for August, so that is a go. As for July 1st long weekend, the club agreed on the lake area north of Merritt called Chataway Lakes. More details as to departure times will become available, I think many will meet at Steve T's place, probably Saturday morning, July 1.

p.s. I have been seriously busy, but will write up the meeting description in the next couple of days. How does anybody have enough time for anything these days?
