I'm considering buying some Tundra wheels to have winter tires mounted on and was wondering a couple of things:

- From what I've read hear Tundra rims will fit no problem with the possible exception that the front hubs are different and may cause a fitment issue with the center cap. Can anyone confirm this?

- I assume I can run the winter set without TPMs. Will I get a warning every time I start the vehicle or will it recognize that all four are missing and to ignor it? My previous car did this; if one was missing you got a warning, if 4 were missing it did not give a warning/error message.

- If I end up getting a set of TPMs for the winter set, will I need to get the monitors programmed to the vehicle every time I switch the rims? I don't mind getting the winter set programmed to the vehicle assuming it's a one-time only thing and it will recognize both the summer and winter set (although I doubt this will be the case). Anyone have first hand experience with this?

Thanks in advance!

One workaround solution I have seen people do on other cars is to make a TPMS "bomb". Essentially a short piece of plumbing pipe with one end capped and the other with a threaded cap and a schraeder valve installed. You put the 4 TPMS sensors in it, screw on the cap and pressurize it to the correct PSI, making the computer happy. Throw the "bomb" in the back or under the seat somewhere and use regular valve stems.

In regards to you last question, I don't think the programming sequence is that complicated. It should be outlined in your owner's manual.

Thanks for the reply. I just picked up some essentially new Tundra rims and will try this season without the TPMs and see what happens.

I thought the 200s were supposed to be able to accept two different sets of wheels/tires with two different TPMSs. I thought I read that in my manual...maybe I was just delusional.
