I feel like Im back in Chicago with these temps.
This is CRAP!
I ran outta propane for my heater in the garage last noc too....:bang:
You should have called, I always keep a couple of spare tanks full.
This counts as a winter tip.
Spare propane comes in handy for heating and cooking if you lose power.

Winter tip....don't be this guy! 4 door Powerstroke putt'n along in 4hi monday, going around a long turn by the base, locked it up and off he went. The bank doesn't look that bad in the pic, but it's about 8-ish feet. I jerked him loose with my cruiser and got it up a little bit, then the Seals brought 2 Hummers and piggyback winched him up, chrome step bars didn't make the trip back up the bank.

Well as far as the BFG all terrains loading up in the mud yes they do as far as chunking off in the rocks yes they do but so do mud terrains ive seen it it happens to all tires in the rocks. Bummer for the dude in the Ford . and thats is a good tip Rusty i do usually carry at least a spare 5 gallon tank of propane just in case and also have several one pound bottles for lanterns so i have light also good idea to keep at least a small Gen-Set around that way at least you can watch TV or run your pc or whatever you need it for while your waiting for power to turn back on.

I've been driving my old flatbed around lately. Tall skinny Dean Mud Tires, Locker in the front, trac lok in the back. All that weight on those little skinny tires makes it like a tank. I have to be doing something on purpose to get it to break loose.

As long as I plug that old diesel in, it fires right up, even at -10.

Maureen was up from Sacramento all last week because she wanted to see the first big snow in the Sierra. Driving around here the past few days offered many opportunities for snow wheeling through all the neighborhood streets. I've been having a blast. Only one time where I goofed and my power slide got the better of me. But I do make sure I do that on empty lots. Funny how practice and fun sliding your rig in the snow go so well together. It's almost instinctual now if the ass end slides out, the hands on the steering wheel automatically know what to do.

If there's one thing about these FJCs that really sticks out is how well balanced they are front and back.

Even had the opportunity last night to tow strap an F-250 out of its own driveway. Of course, if the kids driving daddy's Ford had actually shoveled the berm and put some salt down, they easily could've driven. But it was good recovery practice!

I've had more fun winter driving than ever with this rig.

If they weren't so spendy, I would have bought an FJC by now. I am really taking a liking to them.

Without knowing what you want to spend, I suggest taking a look on craigslist between Nevada, California, and Oregon. There are many that have been traded in with pretty low miles. Some may already be modded up.

If I didn't already have a Ramcharger that is paid for and accomplishes everything I'm asking it to do, I'd be all over one. Unfortunately my paycut this year is cutting into my fun funds....
