Besides wheeling, what do club members do for winter outdoor activities? I just got back into cross country skiing after 28 years away. I'm expecting a few have snow machines. I used to have a couple of clunkers way back. I know Doug is into snowshoeing. What else?

Like Alan said I'am into snowshoeing. Hopefully with Alan in Cedaredge now I can get out 2 or 3 times a week or more. Any one else who would like to join us is more than welcomed, we have great places to snowshoe/X-crountry here on GM. Other places nearby to go are Ouray and Black Canyon.

Here's proof Doug likes to snowshoe. We did the Ward Lake trails then went up to Thunder Mountain Lodge for a big Christmas dinner. Had to replace all those calories burned off busting through nearly 2' of powder.

^ Looks like a great trip. Before the girls came along I was big into telemark skiing both at the resort and back-country. I plan to get back into it and cant wait to get the little ones on the snow.

That last photo of the group is outstanding. Shake the dust off and join us soon. Probably be going again this weekend.

I started my daughter X/C when she was three but we moved to SC the following spring so the only skiing she ever did after that was on water.

I like snowmobiling and skiing. I like to get out into the backcountry whenever I can and the snowmobiles make that convenient. I just picked up an XC setup last year and went out a few times, really been enjoying that. I wish I would have bought AT boots my last go around and made my new ski's an AT setup. Oh well, Next time. (FYI realllllyyyy digging the Armada TST's, I ski almost exclusively in the trees and these things float and turn like nothing else I've skied)

I am also an avid snow fort builder.

Ryan, I figured you'd have snow machines and noted before that your a skier. One of those do-it-all guys.

I checked on snow machine rental today at Grand Mesa Lodge and one can go on guided three hour rides for $150. They include all gear needed to be comfortable. I plan to do that soon. Anyone want to join in the fun?

Just got another toy for playing in the snow (and dirt, sand, mud...). Purchased a "fat bike", Salsa Mukluk.

Got in a hard 10 mile ride up on the Mesa today. Really tired!

Some GoPro footage of putzing around yesterday. SD Card corrupted and all I was able to recover was the first run. Supposedly there was a new hut built in this area over the summer so we are just exploring around trying to locate it. Never did find it.

I bought a pair of snow shoes today and went snow shoeing up at Ironton on Red Mountain Pass so I guess I am now a snow shoer. :bounce2:

Cool, hope you get into it and come join Doug and I sometime. But you will miss the speed (and crashes) of downhilling on the x/c skis.

Got in my first X/C trip of the season today. Very wobbly with 3 butt plants, but weak from just coming off a cold.

Looks like I will be able to start snowshoeing when I get back to Colorado in a few weeks! :bounce:

Yeh, but take it easy at first. I reinjured my back from several crashes. Too much, too soon.
