Hi,
a few of us with BJ42 are planning to go to Moab leaving Winnipeg oct 19th,will be in Moad on the 21st,we will wheel for 3 to 4 days there,
Trying to find out where to stay, what is the temperature like during day and nite time?
Are the camp ground still open?
Any body can come wheeling ?
Rob Ruthlege from Regina with the twisted custom FJ45 (top truck challenge) will be there too, also some jeeps will be there too.
Any info appreciated.......

If you feel 'wrenching' on rigs might occur, then Slickrock Campground on the N end of town is a good choice...not fancy, but they are tolerant :) I've also stayed at the KOA and at OKRV, both on the S end of town. KOA has nicer spots than Slickrock, and OKRV really doesn't have tent options.

Trails are open year round, and Oct should be comfortable weather too. I'm stopping for a day-three around Oct 27-28 enroute to Vegas for SEMA.

Maps are available all over the place...

IMO, a good plan is Fins and Things to start...followed by Hells Revenge. Good first day and good warmup to Moab. Day two is Gold Bar/Golden Spike/Poison Spider...can be a 6-8+ hour trip for a big group...Day three is open, but Moab Rim or Behind the Rocks are both good choices.

Moab in oct will be prime! Check out some camping out on the willow springs road...dispersed cAmping...

Btw...that weekend is a four day holiday in Utah. Might be busy...
