I need a new windshield. When I bought the truck the trim was installed with screws. The holes are oversized and there is no way to replaced with rivets. I removed the trim and used electric tape as a quick fix which work well for wind noise.

Option 1 fill holes with bondo and drill proper size holes in different locations.

Option 2 use foam backing and spray plasti dip.

Any other ideas?

You'll want the holes water and air tight. You might want to consider some light welding on the holes and grinding down. Getting a good ground on the a-pillar or around there might be tricky though.

Drilling new holes will be tricky as well. The truck is high mileage so function over looks at this point. I have not had any problems with water using tape over the holes. I am leaning towards spraying bed liner or plasti dip.

Can you post a pic of the truck without the trim? Just curious what it looks like.
