well.. my windshield washer pump cut out so I had to order another from autozone.

of course the original was a Denso and the new one comes in and it some piece (of crap) that is not of the same configuration... it is minus the area on the top of the molded piece that accepts the small harness that comes away from the motor..

so now I have to do some splicing and minor wiring.

Anyone been thru the same thing?

Any advice?

I almost scrapped the whole idea and was ready to order the original toyota part. But it would take several weeks and my inspection sticker is due.

What was I thinking?

One option might be to purchase a used part from James at Cruiserparts.net. Good guy, family business - busy, can't always answer the phone on the first ring, but always great service. Prices are fair. Stuff is used, but works.

This part is still available new from Toyota, with the correct wiring connector and hose position. When I replaced it last year, I don't remember it being very expensive-maybe $30 or so. Call Cruiserdan and get the right part the first time. Forget Autozone parts.

yup, about $30, fits perfect.

last one I got took 1 day to get.

The guy I go to here in Mass for stickers goes easy on me... and vehicle inspections in Massachusetts can be a freakin nightmare. You NEVER know what you're gonna get. And I really do believe that some are corrupt. After all...the guy has to pay for that expensive inspection equipment.

Anyway.. he says fix the windshield washer pump and that's it....... I fix the windshield washer pump..

Just wish I skipped autozone and went right to the oem part
