Afternoon folks!

Having recently purchased a 2004 GX470 I am slowly making my way through its needed repairs and recent owner quirks. The previous owner had a Sirus radio installed with the atenna cable run up the window trim and into the rubber trim where the roof and the top of the windshield meet. This trim is now flapping away and no longer adhered in place. My fear is that water will channel down into the windsheild area. Any visuals/schematics folks could share? Clearly water will go somewhere, should it be traveling into gap shown?

Disregard the pollen and obvious need for a paint correction.

Thanks so much and provided photo for reference.

-Michael

Yea that trim is supposed to be press-fit into that channel and stay put.

Have you confirmed whether you have a stock or aftermarket replacement windshield?

If stock, you can just buy that trim piece and replace it.

If aftermarket windshield, you might want to get a professional to look at it.

Appreciate the follow up Bralow, thanks! I was thinking of everything under the sun besides connecting with a windshield business, foolish me. I will confirm the windshield this morning, but anything that needs a water tight seal does not need me touching it lol. Thanks again. -Michael

My windshield shop put a little dab of black rubber glue to hold that windshield rubber piece that goes up to the roof rack feet.

Also, these windshield places can reseal your existing windshield for like $50 or less. At least in LA.
