Here is a point of maintenance that should be considered before mounting ur 8000 lb winch to the cruiser. WARN uses a very heavy grease inside the winch and it is not distributed well. There are steel parts and aluminum parts. Over a few years, these parts will corrode and in-gauging and dis-ingaging will become difficult; especially when it is 10 degrees F outside and u r stuck in a snow bank.
Take the winch apart and clean out old grease and re-grease using synthetic Amsoil grease. Cover all the aluminum and steel parts to prevent corrosion.
