Okay so I bought new Superwinch epi9000. Got a universal winch plate to go on the 45 from Jim C. Now I don't want to have this thing stolen when I run into a store or anything. What are some of the things you guys have done to prevent this from happening. Rounding out the bolts? Welding them to the plate? I am open to suggestions. I know that if somebody really wants it they are going to get it. Thanks for any input.

get a dog with a bad case of blood lust and tie him to the end of the winch when you are away from your truck :D
i would put a heavy tack on the bolts.
in my fsm it shows the factory toyota winch had an anti theft bolt not sure where you could find one tho

The bolt idea is kinda cool. So is the dog but a 90lbs black lab doesn't exactly instill the kind of fear that I am looking for.

Paint it pink.

Maybe I could just get a pink sweater for the dog. That should really scare people.

You can probably get "Security bolts" at Fastenal. But make sure they have thme in the right grade, or you'll shear them off.

So what your saying is that bailing wire and duct tape won't do it. :hillbilly:

Not without the bubblegum....
