Winch cable question

How do you remove a kink from the winch line?
 
hmm...

I'd post over in the winching/recovery thread for a more definitive answer. the short anser is, ya' don't. I beleive ya' should replace the whole thing, or cut it back to that point and ad the ring and hook back on. Better yet, upgrade to syth. OR....here's lots of folks upgrading to synth with brand new winches - check the for sale here and craigslist.

As long as the cable is healthy, and no strands are broken or visibly damaged, stretching the cable under a high load will remove most kinks.

Don't let line spool on loosely, and you won't have problems with a kinking cable.

Play safe, follow good winching practices...
