Hola!

Has anybody used any of the Wilwood d154 variants on their GM metric disc brake conversions? Did it require any grinding? I'm considering using these calipers for my 4 corner disc conversion but I'd hate to have to grind the paint off a new wilwood caliper. Thanks in advance for the info!

like this? I replaced the GM calipers - no modifications, just bolt on. they clear no problem with stock wheels

Not sure if it’s the same, but I have the Wilwood kit from Manifre, when there were in Simi Vally CA, many moons ago. It’s been great for all these years. I can search my records to see if I still have the receipt.

Precisely! Did you use them on the front too? That's where it looks like grinding is required on OE GM calipers (see post 4 in link below). But the Wilwood calipers don't have the same tab on the bottom as the OE calipers, hoping they will bolt on as is too.

The manafre rear kit looks to be the standard GM metric bracket other companies use (JTO), but with the wilwood d154 caliper I mentioned. That end looks like it works without any grinding (thanks Steffan!). The manafre front kit is different though, it uses a wilwood dynalite 4 piston caliper (not GM metric spec), and a different bracket to mount it. If I can't DIY a kit with wilwood metric calipers I may just order the manafre kit.

funny, the brackets were made for GM calipers but you still have to grind on them. I have the Manafre kit on the front with dynalite calipers so no help there.
here are some other pictures - best I could do given the location but might give you a better idea of fitment - looks like they should clear without grinding (don't have those tabs on them)

Yeah, I wish they would have designed the bracket around a slightly larger rotor so the clearances weren't so tight in the front. It sounds like the problem isn't from the bracket, it's where the caliper hits the axle housing. The Wilwood calipers definitely look like they should have better clearance, just debating if I want to roll the dice without confirmation. I'm down here in Nicaragua so parts take 3-4 weeks to get here and there isn't an easy mechanism to return anything if it doesn't work. If I don't hear from anyone that has used the Wilwoods up front, I'll probably just order the Manafre dynalite kit like you have. You've been happy with it? Did you need to add a proportioning valve? What master are you using? Thanks!

I have the Manafre - Wilwood conversion on all four corners, ... installed professionally (perhaps?) for the P.O.

Originally shod with 15" wagon wheels. No issues.

Now have 16" wheels with 3.25" backset and 33" Toyo M-55s.

No issues at all.

Good Luck!
