I'm rocking some general grabber at2 in 275/65/18 and I'm thinking about a shoe change. Grabbers have been great is all DRY conditions (i feel like thats common among AT tires), but they arent big enough and mud traction is poor. I've heard lots of good things about Dura tracs and i believe ill be giving them a try myself.
I'm thinking 865's, fox shox, diff drop, 1" wheel spacers (to widen track) and duratrac 275/70/18. I want to add these things while retaining my OEM mud flaps up front. I think she'll look awesome being a little taller, a little wider, and those duratrac side lugs look sexy.
Question time. im worried about two things with this setup. ive been reading up on wheel spacers. i see a lot of people opting for the 1.25" over the 1" because the 1" 'may require grinding.' I read that that people have been using 1" spacers with no grinding and no issue, but these were on tundra rims. will the stock 18" LC rim work with a 1" wheel spacer without a need to grind down the lugs?
next question is about rubbing at wheel lock. i understand that my scrub radius will increase with these spacers. will it increase enough to rub? looks like the bottle neck will be the back of the front wheel well against the OEM mud flap.
Bonus question! anybody have pictures of this setup they would be willing to share?
Thanks a lot, gang.
