Will Hella 4000s fit ARB bumper

I've read mixed reviews on whether the Hella 4000s fit the ARB winch bumper. I just wanted to confirm whether or not they fit. I'm considering either these or the lightforce 240s. Is there a general preference of one over the other?

If I could get the 4000 rallaye's to fit nicely on a stock ARB the I would. I cut the tabs on my ARB and welded them a little bit more inward so they will fit. Man how I love those HIDs

I just fitted a set of Hella 4000s to my ARB winch bar. I had to redrill the mounting holes a little bit further forward and make some spacers to lift them up a bit.

I welded some tabs on the front side of the bar where the ARB tabs are (first pic), but didn't like where they sat so I lopped those off and added some tabs lower (second pic).

I used the factory light tabs on my 4000s, but drilled holes forward an inch or so, then tapped the tabs downward a few degrees with a rubber mallet. Mine fit so they aren't the first thing to hit if someone backs into me in a parking situation like Corey's would, and they're not blocked by the lower bar like Arizonae's are. I only spent a total of 10 minutes making the mod to fit them.

Doug, do you have any pictures showing how you did this? Also, does anyone know how the lightforce's fit? I am also considering those. Any reason to choose one over the other?

I cut the factory tabs off the ARB bar and welded new ones on - flush with the bottom of the middle bar.
Easy.

I wallowed out the factory holes w/ a drill bit, threw a few washers on the bolts and they mounted up just fine. Much easier than breaking out the welder.

Mine look just like Matt's rig - exact same location. Other differences are that mine's the coolest color ever for an 80, and the steering wheel is on the correct side.....heh...

If you do a search, we have discussed the liteforce and hella 4000's pretty extensively. While some like the Lightforce lights, I am not impressed by what I have seen. Yes they have a very bright hotspot, but outside of that, coverage is spotty and falloff is not even. Any company can build a light that has a bright hotspot. Getting good even coverage and smooth falloff is much harder, and the big Hella lights are best at that IMHO.
