Thanks Harry!!
It was great to meet you!
Lots of bruised EGO's on the carnage report.
I just can't help but think that if we just massaged that line a bit more, we could have found the magic path.
The new guy was the one who proved that it is all a matter of a couple of inches here and there with the right touch at the right time.
It took me a couple of attempts and that was after I watched 5 other capable wheelers and rigs try different lines that didn't work. It really helped me have an advantage. And even then my engine stalled because of the vertical climb. So the last part my starter motor kept me going til I leveled out and my engine turned on again. I made it because I wheel with a great bunch of guys that school me everytime I go out with them. The new guy was the one who proved that it is all a matter of a couple of inches here and there with the right touch at the right time. Next time it could be just the opposite. But what a great day. I love it! KEEP ON WHEELIN![]()
No brusied egos necessary![]()
Lpg would work but it is 2000.00 for the conversion. I found a thread that had a link titled "How to make a Weber climb a hill". This involved plugging a fume vent with JB weld and drilling some holes, etc etc. I think I should look into a solid tune up and have someone who knows how to tune a Weber look at it before I start any mods. And besides Dan your weber didn't quit on the hill.?? I haven't changed my fuel filter and other junk I should have been doing. Maybe that will make a difference??

He already has a Weber so the adapter plate could probably be re-used.Howell probably has a TBI conversion from a 4.3L v6 chevy available. I put one on my wrangler years ago. It was one of the best things I did. A Jeep 258/4.2L is a lot like a 2f, slow revving tractor motor. With the CA version, mine was only about $1200 (non CA CARB versions were cheaper). Driveability went way up and offroad it wasn't even a contest any more.
Here is their "universal" kit. You just let them know what you are putting it in and they will burn the chip to accomodate. Their service is excellent as well.

I think I would do this if someone who has done it could tell me it worked and solved the problem . And it wasn't a major hassle(PITA). I just hate the computer part and the wiring. All the mods I have done are low tech bolt on stuff(crawl box, sm 420, new clutch, Rear discs, etc.) The threads on the forum are usually for the 350TBI. I will keep checking. Maybe this would be worth it.![]()
