I need to raise the front on my newly acquired 08 that has a very significant rake. It has Dobinsons lift but has stock UCAs. I ordered the 1/4 Dobinson coil spacer which will
provide another half inch lift which will not be enough. Will an aftermarket UCA provide additional lift?

UCAs will not change ride height at all, only impact alignment numbers and possibly impact tire clearance to other body parts. Ultimately you need shorter rear springs or more weight in back.

Ok thanks. Will the stock UCA do for the lift I have or need to replace that anyway since i will need an alignment again after installing the coil spacer?

You may already be at the limit of what a stock UCA can do, and a spacer will most likely push you past that.

That said, I’d be very cautious adding a spacer to an aftermarket lift. The spacer is designed to add travel, but not too much, to the stock struts. If they add too much travel you start compromising CV strength and might run out of shock up travel and make them bottom before bump stop contact. Basically, I would not add spacers in front unless you verify the struts aren’t any longer travel than stock.

That’s if you have enough exposed stud to add the spacer anyway.

Embrace the Rake. Level is over rated unless you never put stuff in the back. I ended up dead level empty after my lift and then added 30mm spacers to the rear to fix my saggin wagon when I was loaded up.

I agree. Embrace the rake. When I and my family of 6 get in the cruiser, load up our stuff and then hitch up the caravan, we’re level. Saying that, I’m even looking at getting air bags to bring the trailer hitch up just a bit while off-road.
