I have a '69 fj40 that I converted to mini truck front discs. It has 33's on 8" steelies. After converting to the disc brakes, I also added some small degree shims to rotate the axle back for more caster (cut and turn some day w/SOA). The tie rod is from the mini truck with the modified drag link bolted into the steering stabilizer hole on the long TRE.
I get a terrible wobble between 35 and 50ish. My whole truck shakes violently and I have to get over to the shoulder for the gravel.
I have noticed that the tie rod seems to rotate front to rear, like the drag link is pushing and pulling the mount at the tie rod up and down. All the joints seem tight and are greased. I've been meaning to use GM one ton TREs, but the cruiser always comes last.
The wheel bearings are fine and the knuckle king pin bearings seem fine.
