Hi all,
I usually hang out in the land cruiser forums but I've run across a 1998 4Runner that I might be able to pick up for a couple hundred dollars. It's sitting on a foreclosure property outside of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It's in excellent condition with no rust, body damage or anything else apparently wrong with it except...the dash has been pulled out. It's been sitting since at least 2007. What would be the reason for pulling the dash? Replacing the air conditioning or heater? Anything else that could go wrong with this rig that would require pulling the entire dash? And what else should I be looking for if I was able to purchase it?

Also it's a from the U.S. so what would I have to do to register it in Canada?

Cheers,
Rab

Entire dash gone? I'd say they either pulled it for parts, or they wanted to replace either the heater or the hoses running to the heater.

Or perhaps it was a squeaky mother f*cker and they wanted to find the source and never got around to putting it back together. My 86 had a wicked squeak that took me a while to find.
