Dropped my FZJ80 off at J&M Toyotechs in Fort Mill last weekend and saw a nice partially restored pale yellow FJ40 on their lot - drooled over it for a bit on drop off and pick up.

Had a custom plate but can't remember it now, maybe a year and cruiser (72cruiser or something like that) - but I'm sure within ONSC these clues will be enough to identify it ;)

I keep thinking about it so if the owner is here or if someone knows the owner let me know - looking to add another cruiser to keep my 80 company if they're interested in selling.

Thanks,
John

Mildly lifted with a custom front bumper ?

sounds like josh jones' rig. Nice yellow 40.
His handle on mud and likely his tag is 77cruiser.
I dont think hes gonna sell it to ya though :)

His buddy Justis just sold a nice blue 72 though that would have been a good one.

No lift really and stock bumpers I believe. Had white wheels but mounted spare was the gray factory wheel. Had hard top on too.

No one from this club then, Josh is the only yellow 40 I can think of.

Interesting! it wasnt mine although mine is about to be there. I will find out whos it was when i go there tomorrow.
Was it really pale yellow?
if so its Dukebluerog's truck. its been there for god knows how long and hasnt run since it was dropped off i dont believe. When i say long i think year or more...

Heard you are having some engine problems when I was at Jim's yesterday, sucks.

Yea, it's pale yellow but in really great shape exterior at least (interior was nice too, just tear in driver seat bottom) - suprised if it's in that good of shape sitting for a year or so but definitely possible. Keep meaning to call J&M to ask but only seem to remember at night when they're closed.

Al... yep-.. engine probs have sidelined me. Started as miss firing and led to losing compression in 2 cylinders. It was leaking just about everything so i was worried this day would come. I have 2-2f engines fully complete now at Toyota techs to either rebuild one collectively or just drop one in. One is from an fj60 and one is from an fj40, both have headers and i have a fresh out of the box Jim C carb i just got back. We shall see. Hoping to have it all back on road in next 30 days.

Got some info on the Cruiser you were talking about. dont know the name but the owner is a lady who got the truck in a divorce i guess. Mark at Toyota Techs said its really in good shape but has drum brakes and no PS so its a little tough to drive. It sat idle in a garage for 3 yrs though so its getting some work done to get it going good again.
The one i was talking about was there but the one youre talking about is 1000 times nicer!

Long time since I have been on here...and it looks like my yellow FJ has a good twin at Toyota Techs..yep, flog me if you will, my FJ has been on Johnny and Marks lot for quite some time now...dropped it off and then life happened..had another kid, helped out some family members, work, yada, yada, yada..any money that I had saved up went out the window to those factors..well I saved up again and am back on track..actually meeting with Johnny tomorrow to go over a list of things to get done so I can have it out and running...looking at redoing brake lines, installing disc brake kit (one axle already has it installed)..engine work (so it can run)...give it a bit of a lift and probably going from three on the tree to four on the floor...I'm not going to keep it all original..just wanna see it run after all these years of sitting...maybe in time for URE..fingers crossed...and no more babies..got that taken care of..cheers..Roger
