Spotted and paced two FJ40's, one smurf blue & one red. Red one sporting PMC decal on right rear. Looked loaded for woods type wheeling and camping. Gal driving the blue one looked like Full Court? Anyway, just curious who & why. They probably wondered what the white cop lookin sedan with park decals was doing pacing them :)

Hi Jeff, That was Full Court and me. Turned out our Cobb mt. friends all backed out Sun. and we were completely packed with food and gear for 4 days on the con. We decided to do something different. Intended to do the lost coast for a couple nights but on the way to the gas station Mon. morning decided the rigs were purring so smooth I ought to show her McGrew. We couldn't do the club run the week earlier because my son was visiting from Utah. (Hill AFB). I think I do remember your rig in the rear view but don't recall you passing. In the thirty years of cruising that old red cruiser up and down the west coast, I have never had so many thumbs up, hang loose and just plain waves from truckers to bikers to even a guy in a convertable corvett with the windows up and no shirt on in that damn cold windy fog.
I really think the further north you go the more people appreciate the "Cruiser Lifestyle"
Catch you next time, :D

Cool ... I missed the McGrew run this year and thought maybe you guys had just hung out in this neck of the woods since. I didn't pass you ... you were going too fast!

Ya really gotta get the rpm up to keep those 35's humming up the grades :D. was I speeding? lol

lol Dion, Court and I were both running solo(we both prefer driving :D). Very briefly considered meeting you guys but the rigs just aren't quite ready yet in my mind. If they were someone elses rig than sure I'd run it but sending Court in there without a full cage puckers my butt a bit plus my cruisers are midgets standing next to every rig in the pics. We will get there hopefully next year with Michael.
As for the national forest up here there hasn't been near the traffic as last year. No trucks full of Mexicans like last year. Also I've learned to make eye contact and nod or acknowledge if someone looks bad and they tend to behave. Have never found that waving a gun at someone makes anyone feel more comfortable however those with permits to carry seem more comfortable with a gun on their waist.
See you guys next week at the meeting.
