hmmm....
interesting if not a very good finding:

I did some searches and came to realize that the search engine does not appear to look for parts of words.
For example, if you search for "30304", it will not find posts that contain "30304AJR".
I was amazed.
If this is true, the implication for searches are serious. You can not automatically search for singular words and trust it'll find plural ones etc, unlike many other search engines.

Ways around this?

hope I'm wrong

In the good old days I think search engines used to default to using a '*' as a wildcard ... no so sure these days .. I'll have to try . That 'lil * saved my trackin ass many , many times ... God love the little fella .. *W*

Yup .. the wildcard works !!

I put in 30304* , and I got 3 results ... searched the page for the 30304 , and it was connected at the hip to a bunch of letters , so problem solved ..

good call, but when I tried, the wildcard only seemed to work for one letter, not the whole rest of the word as in DOS filenames and such.
So 30304* seemed to find 30304A but not 30304AJ...
Still, good to know.

Yes it did .... 30304AJ

indeed. I was wrong. Don't know what happened last time, but tried again with "sock*" and it picked up "socket", "sockets" etc. So it sure works.
All right!
Tyler saves the day (again)! :)

Great , now if I could only find the tumbler of 10 yr old Port , I just put down somewhere I'd be a happy man . Even happier if I could snap my fingers and have my 80 packed for the 32 hr haul I begin tomorrow .

Glad it all worked out though e999* ... this software is pretty impressive . Kinda like the adult version of YaBB .. haha
