I need to get a spare rim for my M416 and need to find a place to buy them. I know most change to the bolt pattern of the truck but I pull this trailer with my 100, 60 and 40 all have different tire sizes so I want a spare on the trailer I prefer it be original M416

I bought some at a local surplus store for pretty cheap. These are the same wheels used on the M151 military jeep. I did find that some of these rims were bent so check for that

I'm in the same boat as you I use FJ25, FJ40, FJ62 and 100 series to pull my trailers each has it's own spare. I was able to mount a 60 series spare tire carrier to my M416 using two holes on the front spring perches and drilling a new hole in front of that on each side. Works with stock size tires. Any bigger and it wouldn't clear the landing leg when it folded up. My M416 is used quite a bit on the highway and like having a spare along that's not in the way.

The wheels I bought from FLMV were new in the box with NSN and all. At $25, they're a good deal.

Spare tire

Any chance you can post send me a pic of the spare tire set-up.
I just happen to have an extra FJ60 spare tire winch thing sitting around.

That sounds like exactly what I want to do.

I have been looking for an M416 for years and found one locally the best part was that it was originally produced in Oh back in 63. It is in amazing shape for OH with little to no rust and for less than $300 it was a deal.

Here is a old thread I posted some pictures of how I planned to do it. https://forum.ih8mud.com/trailer-tech/443103-best-ideal-spot-mount-spare-tire-m416-trailer.html It since been installed and I have pictures that I can post later.

That old thread is closed so I post some pictures here.

$300 is a great price on a 1/4 ton trailer. I had to pay $400 for my M416 and MBT. I also have a M101A1 but the M416 is the only one that I need a spare mounted because it see amny miles behind my 100 series carry larger items to our cabin. I like the 60 series carry because it was simple to install and the jack handles from any of my cruiser will drop spare. Still looking for a place to carry some place to store a lug wrench for the trailer. It would be nice to cut the bracket down and mount it higher but that would make excess to the winch harder and might interfere with the hand brake cable. Decided not to over think it and just go simple. I did use heavy fender washer on the three other bolts on the spring perch to even it out with crossmember from the carrier.

Is your tow vehicle a 60 or 62? looks like a 62. Here is my trailer behind my 62 this fall cutting firewood.

from my trailer build thread (spare carrier bracket from Jeep Grand Wagoneer)

I wanted to mount the spare under the frame, so it hit me this past weekend that I could recycle the spare carrier from my wife's rig, since her 33" BFG's are too big to use the stock spare carrier now. It looked like it was going to work, here's the first mock up. It was too far forward and interfered with the kickstand so it had to be moved towards the axle a few inches.

The "hub" section of the spare carrier is not really doing much, but when I tighten the strap up, the tire gets sandwiched fairly securely up against the diagonal frame members.

Here's how it looks from above in its final mounting spot. It doesn't interfere with the parking brake cables either.

Tightening the bolt on the right draws the strap up.

Here's the other side of the strap that has a double hinge. I simply welded some tube on the underside to accept the linch pinch that is secured with a cotter pin and under tension of a compression spring.
