Anyone run Cooper tires and if so, which tire? For our 4 runner I want a decent tire that is good in the snow but can be run all year round. We have Yokahama AT&S tires on a truck at work and we are in the snow and very cold and they are great. I have a price of $840 from Cedar tire for the Yokahama's which I think is pretty good but was wondering about Coopers. Cedar tire can get them but said I had to pick the model. After looking on the web site I am thinking of the Discovery S/T or ATR. If I get the S/T I will have them siped for better performance. What does everyone think? Thanks.

the shop truck i drive at work has the STT's on it, and work really well. Haven't had an issues with them, that's with a loaded 1ton cummins, in and out of the mines, towing etc... They're wearing really evenly, probably the best m/t type tire i've driven on snow and ice, and pretty quiet on pavement, considering.
I know it doesn't help your decision with a/t's much, but i'd buy them again.
cheers

Thanks Dan, a couple of the VIH trucks here had them but they got switched to studded snow tire. I couldn't really get a good review form any of them. That is what I want to hear though, I think I will get them if they are much cheaper than the Yokahamas.

haven't tried any of the tires, but I did notice yesterday that the tire place in chemainus at henry road has a big "cooper tires" sign on the shop.

might be worth a call.

cheers,
ryan

THanks for the input guys. I know B&H tire pushes coopers, I just wanted some info before calling around. Steve do you recall what the price was like on the Toyos? I do like Toyos but find them pricey. How were they in the snow?

When we were looking for tires the folks at one tire place I trust placed the Toyo M55 and Cooper ST as #1 and #2 in sales and feedback for folks that wanted good AT's for back country work rigs. We ended up with both. Petra has the Cooper ST's on the HJ61 just now. Decent all round. 255/85R16 in both.
