I'm looking to borrow an engine stand for my 2F-E project. Although I've been kicking and screaming like a biatch, I've been well advised to just pull the motor to do the necessary work on this project.

So, I'd like to borrow an engine stand for a few weeks (hopefully), maybe a month if things don't go right. Let me know if you can spare it for the short term.

Thanks...

Jerry if you are going down to get the 3FE you won't be that far from him.

I'm a ways from you but you are more than welcome to it. Might be going to Winston Salem this weekend if that is closer for you.

That could work. I'll be heading to Sanford to take part in the rape and pillaging of the 80 recently acquired by one of our illustrious members.

I'll PM you my number to see if we can work something out in the event someone in the Raleigh/Durham crew doesn't have one laying around.

Thanks...

I have one but it's the one leg support harbor freight type. Probably not the best for your application, but I don't have an engine on it right now....

Thanks guys. Looks like Darin and I will be on different paths over the weekend. I may take Bill up on his offer since Brian made his sound so enticing and stable.

So, Brian, are you not happy with the $90 Harbor Freight special? I was thinking about doing that also but if they suck, I'll pass for sure...

It was given to me, as it was taking up space in my uncle's garage (he's in the process of restoring a GTO) so he got a better one.

This is mine:

I think you're thinking more along the lines of:

Let me know if you want it, I won't need it until June-ish... MAYBE... I figure for the block it wouldn't be that bad, but working with the head on it may be a little tipsy? If someone knows firsthand please chime in...

I didn't realize how heavy these engines are until after I talked with Darin about his stand. So, yes, I'd opt for the second choice if I were to pay for one. Northern Tool has a similar one for a bit cheaper that I might drive over and look at in the morning.

In any case, I really hope to not be working in this until then, if I am, I'll be pulling my hair out by then...

Hope everything went as planned.

Don't think I'll be able to fit it in the FJC now that I think about things. With all the tools and parts I'll be bringing home, I might be squeezed. I also committed to brining something kind of big back to my area so I'll have to see what turns up in the near future...
