My mom's '10 has a whistle-like noise that comes and goes. It seems like it is coming from the passenger side of the front windshield. Only happens at highway speeds. It sound kind of like the sound made when you blow on a blade of grass. I searched the forums but did not find anything conclusive. She still has original glass. She is taking her 200 to the dealer to have them look at it but I was wondering if anybody knew of any known issue that might be causing this. Thanks!

Mine does that as well. I didn't notice it until after I had the original, cracked windshield replaced. I thought maybe the installer didn't seal the glass well, but I haven't noticed any leaks. Unfortunately, I can't offer much of a solution as I've never discovered what's causing the whistling.

I would duck tape the entire outer edge of the windshield and then test drive. If it went away... As an aside, we use 3M's no-residue duct tape to seal Shelby cobras which have (in my case) leaky soft tops at the boundaries. The no-residue stuff works great and does not leave a mess on the fabric or in your case the carrossery .

Thanks for the responses so far. My mom told me that the windshield HAS been replaced. Knowing this, I'm sure this might be the culprit. I'll let y'all know what we find.

Yup, that would be the culprit. Those are notoriously difficult to replace without creating leaks or noises.

That's why I install clearplex on all my new cars. Want to retain the factory installed glass and seal. Check it out. Good stuff.

Unfortunately, my cracks were temperature induced and not caused by rocks. One problem with living in the Arctic with its -45F temps is that you can heat the windshield too quickly and cause stress between the glass layers. It was an expensive mistake I made one morning when my mind was elsewhere and I forgot to turn down the defrost temp.

Update: windshield was replaced before my mom purchased the truck. It was not installed correctly and because it was a "certified" vehicle, her dealership reinstalled the windshield correctly at no cost. Problem solved!
