With my fairly cookie cutter tool list I've been able to tear apart an entire front IFS front end suspension and put it back together, change fluids, plugs tires, basic electrical troubleshooting, and a few other typical maintenance tasks on my rig. Buuuuuut, I've never actually done any trail fixes minus tightening bolts so I feel like there's some nice items I'm overlooking.

Things I have in mind:

1' x 1' piece of aluminum to have a small, hard, and flat working space if needed. Hammering out u joints comes to mind.

Basic battery welding kit. I don't know how to weld properly, but I'm sure with a bit of practice I could know how to booger a drag link back somewhat good enough to limp off a trail. Learning to weld properly is on my list of things to do though.

Thoughts?

Pipe wrench, helps hold tie rods, links or whatever steering needs to be twisted or turned....
Large punch or "lady's foot" helps alingn stuff when needed.
3 ft of wire and various wiring connections.
And last but always with me a leather man tool.
