Which Mighty Mounts do I need?

Does anyone know which Yakima Mighty Mounts fit a LX450 OEM rack? Info is not forthcoming from Yakima.

The OEM rack is funny shaped, not round. You probably won't find anything that fits super well, unless you do a custom one-off.

I would recommend using a gutter mount system. The OEM rack mount is only designed for 100 lbs, so if you strap a 25 lb Yakima rack to it then you're limited to 75 lbs, which defeats the whole purpose.

If you do go the yak route they make a universal kit. I used it on my wifes protege (strange shape ovals). Hold skis/snowbaords fine.

I've used the universal mighty mounts to attach a pair of Yakima King Cobra bike racks on a couple vehicles. They worked well, even with 50lb DH bikes in the trays. However, I have a Yakima 1A Raingutter towers and 66" bars for my truck as I have no factory rack . They are very solid and I have had up to 5 whitewater canoes and kayaks on the roof at one time. Way better than any OEM roof rack, especially a 14 year old plastic one.
