My parents are driving up through Calgary this next week from Utah for a vacation to your wonderful national parks. I had talked to them about maybe picking up a few scepter fuel cans for me which they thought was a great idea (they'll be driving a 2010 Tundra 4.6l towing a ~25' trailer getting 8 mpgs.) I know they'll be in the Arbour Lake area (where the 1A crosses the 201) basically all day Saturday.

In my mind every corner store stocks and sells them but I'm sure that dream isn't reasonable. It looks like Princess Auto has them but is that the best place to get them? Any recommendations on another place to send them?

Thanks and I really appreciate any help.

I get mine at princess auto, spout kits can be had at Greggs

Exactly, I'm interested in the military fuel can. They are pretty sought after in the states since they were banned for not being compliant with some regulation. You can use what you already have but nothing new can be sold here. One dude here on MUD is driving to BC from Oregon to buy them and is selling them for about $100 each. If the conversion is right the freedom dollar cost is about 58 so he's making a tidy profit.

The spouts are also listed on Princess Autos website, I don't have to have one but if there are any in stock I'll have them pick one up. I typically use a super siphon I'll send them to the North Store as it says they have the fuel cans in stock on their webpage.

Thanks for the help gentleman, it is much appreciated.

Nate...I'm in S. Utah. If it's not too late I'd be interested in a few cans if they could grab extra. I'd be willing to pay extra for your trouble.

My parents made it to Calgary and found the north store without any trouble. They only had one can in stock but after checking with the other store and them showing they had 7 more they drove across town and bought all 8. I told them they didn't need to do that and one can would be fine but I guess I sold my dad pretty good on them and he wanted a few himself. They were only able to find one spout though. (I use a super siphon and have a diy spout made from hardware store parts as well.)

I had told them if they bought enough to fill up the back of the truck I could probably sell them and make enough to pay for the gas for the whole trip. I've got a pretty big family though (7 kids) and I know at least one of my brothers wants a few cans as well so I don't know that there will be any that are unclaimed.

Just to give to guys an idea of what us southerners are willing to pay, after the conversion the cans are about $58. A guy in the classifieds section sells new cans for $100. So if you ever make it south of the border you may consider bringing a few extra cans along to sell.

Thanks for allowing me to muddy up your forum.
