At least based on this article, "Hunts Mesa is within the Navajo nation, and you need to have a native guide to access the area."

So far I see there are guided hiking tours and 4x4 day/overnight tours, but none for allowing our own vehicles.

As far as I know there is a dirt trail that private vehicles can travel but you are required to keep private vehicles on it. FYI the trail I'm speaking of is behind the Main info center.
