Where is the LX600 Crowd with base non-AHC suspension? Upgrade to aftermarket?

One of the biggest discussions in the 200 forum is to stay OEM or slap a lift in the truck to fit bigger tires and gain clearance. I am personally a big fan of the OEM suspension in the 200, but for the LX, and its stupid nose, clearance (mostly approach angle) is a joke when compared to the LC. To me, the logical solution would be gut the OEM and slap a lift and tries to make the LX a worthy LC200 upgrade. With that, the approach would be increased, and one could live with the giant nostrils.

Question. Why have we not seen more LX owners doing that here? Lack of aftermarket option in terms of suspension or basically everybody got an AHC truck?

My understanding is that the tundra, sequoia, and 300 can all use the same kits… maybe someone can confirm that?

Almost everyone has ahc. Its very capable in this generation. I think it’s now standard going forward. Contrary to what some have said here, it is not possible to gut it. It’s heavily integrated into the vehicle on this gen.

A few guys here just have avs. One of them managed to get a 1” spacer lift on it, but shops were wanting to gut the system in order to do a full kit, which he understandably didn’t want to do. Slee did install ome Bp-51s on one a while back… not sure what they did with the Avs system though. I’d image that you’d have malfunction warning messages like crazy. I asked them about it but they never responded.

There’s one guy on here that has a base model which has neither ahc or avs. A lift would be straight forward there, but those are very rare. He says he’s going to do one… we’ll see.

Easiest is to get one with ahc… they’re every where. Adjust the sensor brackets, set it in h1, and roll that way.

I've got the unicorn. Base model. 50k miles. Love the stock ride and suspension, though as it ages out of the new, luxury ride into a well used adventure vehicle, I'll likely add a lift. And I'm tickled I have the basic suspension so it'll be a piece of cake to modify.

Have about 20k miles to go on the second set of tires (replaced all four at 22k due to one tire highway shrapnel related blowout).

Though I have to say the 700h overtrail had me seriously thinking about upgrading. 33's and triple locked stocked...sounds like the perfect vehicle except for the AHC, which is still quite a phenomenal system.

Thanks for you guys perspectives. Seems pretty hard to find a base model with no avs or ach. How about the running boards? Are they easily removable? I remember seeing a discussion they are stubborn and not easy to replace with real sliders.

I think they just bolt off… slee did a write up a few months back.

Our shop LX600 is currently on Dobinson suspension. We removed the AVS and there are no dash lights or anything. Obviously when you switch from comfort to sport etc there is no changes to suspension, just the normal shift point and tuning changes.
Very interesting… this opens up a bunch of possibilities on the 252 since most of those have avs. Surprising though… the tundra gets error messages just from removing the front air dam.
