How is this item referred to in FSM? What pages includes diagram and procedure for removal and installation?

Thanks
Perk

I think I've discovered it on Slee's Tech Pages, "Heater Inlet Pipe". I'll be removing the valve cover soon. Is replacing PHH easy with valve cover removed. I know it is at least "easier", but is it actually "easy" with vc off? :)
Is the silicone hose with the "worm, constant tension clamps" really a better setup than OEM?

Thanks
Perk

It's not that much easier with the valve cover removed, Most of the work is still going to be you reaching up from inside the wheel well. When it comes to the best replacement, it seems that while OE works well for a few years, if you want a setup that you don't have to think about for many years, go with the silicon. I did my PHH last week and found that the McMaster constant tension clamps were easy to use and sealed really well.

Bottom line: If you're not removing the valve cover for a different reason, don't do it just for this. I did my PHH nearly exclusively working from below, and working from above wouldn't be any easier. (At least the way I understand it)

Perk - Take a look at this PHH thread for some good info.

I wouldn't bother to pull the valve cover. Just pull the DS tyre and use good quality jack stands because you'll be spending some quality time under there.

I'm sure I asked this question before, but I cant find the answer in search: I believe Christo calls the pipe the PHH connects to the "Heater Inlet Pipe", but what does the FSM actually call the PHH? In other words, what is the name of that hose according to the FSM?

the PHH and the pipe the PHH attaches to is refrenced in the FSM as "heater inlet pipe", I have not seen any other refrences to the PHH nor directions for its removal, in an FSM sense it is just a heater hose and would need no instructions. what makes it a bear is the location
