Hi everyone! Got a min?

Ive been posting on the 80 tech forum mostly but wanted to reach out to local crowd and see if any of you can point me in the right direction. Im about to under take a head gasket job on my 96 LC and was wondering if someone can recommend a shop I could send my head out to? Its my first major engine repair job so I plan on taking it slow and trying to plan ahead and stay in budget. Any suggestions ?

Ive been using this shop for about 20 years, its a mom and pops machine shop in Stratford, he did all my fj40 head plaining and valve job on fj60 head. I always payed cash so wasn’t that expensive, flywheel resurfaced usually is about $60-80. Fj60 head resurface and valve job $200.

I bring my machining stuff to a great guy in Northford, near Middletown. Kehl Performance. Always great, professional, and honest.

Thanks for the input. Ive been calling around the local machine shops and the ball park price im seeing is $500-600. Some knew about the 1FZ-FE some didnt.

Is your head warped?

Not sure, havent taken it off. If its not warped then what we thinking?

I live in East Hampton too. 60? Or 80? There was a sweet green one down the street recently at Belltown for a few days. I almost stopped a few times to grab a photo.
I took my head and my block to Richie and Martin at Accurate Machining in Cromwell. Great guys. They’ve dealt w/ me and my trucks engine parts a few times.
