I want a 74 series truck so bad it's killin me. But before I buy a BJ-74 I was wondering if any of you master importer guys know when the 1HZ versions of that truck will be available in the great white north?

I dont know the dates of manufacture for that model.

If Im going to buy Id just as soon have a six cylinder truck.

Thanks,

Tom B

The first of the HZJ73's should be available now, the HZJ74 in 2015.

What is the difference between the two?

Why 2015? Do you mean that HZJ74's werent made until 2000????

Have a look on Yahoo auto auctions Japan and choose the translated version.
Most of these will not sell international but it gives you an idea whats out there.

Tom,

Does this work for you?

http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?h...prev=/search?q=yahoo+auctions+japan&hl=en&lr=

Where it says H4, S56, etc... indicate the year of the emperor (currently H17, meaning it's the 17th year since the current emperor took over).

So a vehicle with the year "H2" should be allowed into Canada sometime this year and vehicles with "S" (Showa era) with the number 55 or smaller S55, S54, S53, etc... are OK for the US with the 25 year rule.

Dave Ive heard of HZJ73 in oz but Ive never seen one.
The PZJ 70 are more common
There was a HZJ 70 for sale last year in Perth with low klm and mint, said to have been sold new here. They wanted $14k for it.
The dealer parts catalogues list parts for the HZJ70 and 73 but not 76 series so Ill assume they are oz specific

Try Ruggers or Dumbdunce on Outer Limits. One of them knows someone who owns one:D

Tom when you open up the google search page from the link I give you ,at the top listing it should have "translate this page".
I think you maybe opening up the page before translating which wont work.

Tom,

It's an H9 (Heisei Era; 9th year: so you can't export out to Canada for another 7 years).

"No mechanical, interior, exterior problems at all. Exterior is flawless. Five white Bradley(sp) wheels with four additional studless snow tires. Never been offroad."

He is very confident that you would not be disappointed with the condition of the vehicle (not sure how the translation software phrased it, but...)

BTW, I ended up passing on the rig and last night it had gone for more than I would have got it for. :(

Let me know if you need any (additiona) help with translation or whatever else. ;)

Tom,

Sorry I was away from my house all day/night.

The auction has about 4hrs to go with 2 bids is at 1,200,000 yen (about $12,000US). His buy-it-now price is at about $15,500 and has not met his reserve (which is not revealed), yet. The starting price was at $7500, btw.

It may or may not be over by the time you get up in the morning. It may not go up to his B.I.N. price, but it might reach his reserve.
