Are there anyy adjustments needed to be done to the components before beeing installed? Im plannig on using durablend grease, its what I have left from Knuckle rebuild, unless someone has better suggestions. Any tips would be welcomed and appreciated.
i bught all mine from kurt at cruiseroutfitters. i didnt do anything just count your turns when your remove your old ones and put the new ones on the same amount of time. other than that you should be good. i also took mine to firestne and bought lifetime unlimted allignments for 120 dollars when i was done. which is awesome.
Depending on where you got them you might. The drag link where it attaches to the Pitman arm is adjustable. I had to adjust mine from CCOT... not real impressed with them.
I adjusted the drag link ends for tension since I think the stock settings are too light with larger tires.
As to where to buy-I got my set from Mudrak (555 Brand) but I would also trust whatever brand Kurt at Cruiseroutfitters sells.
Next time around, I'm skipping the adjustable ends all together and will use 80 series drag link/tie rod ends with custom rods from Luke Porter.
Also on install-Dont bother counting threads. Install the tie rod and adjust toe in to spec. You can do it with a tape measure. Then install the drag link and adjust for a centered steering wheel. There is no reason at all to get an alignment afterward.
You still in need of help? You can adjust the toe yourself. Do a search for alignment on the forum and you should be able to find some good information.
Caved in to peer preassure and got it aligned at firestone. Paid 130 bucks for lifetime alignment. Didnt want to risk messin up 700 dollars worth of tires. Heads up for everyone, firestone is going to have $30 off lifetime alignment in two weeks. Thanks for all your help.
